Weather is looking good here in Oregon, hopefully it will hold out! If you can, find your way into the Moon's shadow!

Where in Oregon were you? My wife & I drove up from Oroville, California yesterday and today watched the eclipse in a diner's parking lot just off I-5 in Albany, Oregon. After the totality part ended, we headed back home, arriving at 7:00 P.M. Stopped and had dinner at Outback in Chico.

We were in Weiser, camping in a field. It was glorious!

Watched the NBC presentation, heat was the problem here 84F I made a pinhole paper plate, too much ambient light. As a last resort I went to the tractor shed and put on my welding hood, looked like it did in 1962. If I make it to 2024 I will watch it again.

We had an amazing eclipse! Perfect weather, gorgeous corona, and mind-boggling prominences! Several differences between the last on I witnessed, in 1991, and this one, (not as many stars in sky during totality, better prominences, and this one seemed to turn the dimmer switch down faster).
Here's a quick timelapse of the totality... it seemed to go by that fast for us too!

*jealous* I shall console myself with the knowledge that the sun was eclipsed here by a far bigger object. We get that kind of eclipse quite regularly here.

Ah, on the Oregon/Idaho border beside the Snake River.
