I don't know why they even take the displays down!
X-Mas every day of the year is coming. [Mad]

So, which tree did you get? -

I actually can't wait for the christmas decorations to go on sale here.

I bult an automatic valve to turn off the argon gas in a chamber when is is full.( The system I build is basically idetical to the float system that turns off the water when your toilette tank is full, except it is built to work with a gas and not a liquid.) I used a simple glass ball ornament as the float. I broke it this summer and I need anouther.

I see your christmas tree display and raise you a Halloween candy display in August. How far ahead do you need to buy treats for crying out loud?!

I imagine it's a good way to increase candy revenue, though, since any early purchases are likely to be eaten before halloween, thus requiring replacement treats. [Roll Eyes]

There are multiple stores East TN devoted to selling nothing but Christmas stuff all year long, so I can buy a Christmas tree on just about any day except Christmas.

Hallmark has their ornaments out in July. I remember when the rule was the day after Thanksgiving.

I don't mind your example above or others like it -- Russell Rhodes and several other online Christmas stores, but that's the deal. They're online. When I walk into Target in need of shampoo or diapers or whatever, I DON'T WANT to see holiday decorations in August. I'm still enjoying the kids, and trying to eek out the last wonderful moment of summer before school starts. They're half a year (!) ahead of time, even in the grocery stores. But that fight is going to get as far as the law in Texas which was called the "Blue Laws" that only a very few "emergency"-type stores could be open on Sundays. As a consumer it's been handy to be able to shop on Sundays (think for shoes with the kids), but this means horribly split schedules for workers in those stores and more importantly a day they won't spend with their kids. The common denominator is and will always be: how does this affect our bottom line? Early sales means they can re-order hot items and be more assured of not having much inventory left that they have to mark down. The end result is we'll start seeing year-round "Christmas sections" in Macy's and big stores. I'm not looking forward to it.
