An argument was made that the US (and its allies) were violating the sovereign rights of nations in a very horrible manner, namely Afghanistan and Iraq. I was not sympathetic to Afghanistan, nor Iraq ... especially in the case of Afghanistan, where the Taliban gave safe-haven to the self-professed accessory to murder known as Osama bin Laden. I suppose the "main" argument against me (and US use of force against the Taliban) was something like "if you can't give the accused a fair trial, and not violate his rights in any way, then the right thing to do is to have neither trial nor take the man's freedoms" -- the accused being Osama bin Laden. Along the way, phrases like "I am not defending the Taliban" and "I am not defending Osama bin Laden" were thrown in, and I considered those statements to be lies. That is a VERY short summary, in fact it hardly scratches the surface of the "entire backstory." [/QB][/QUOTE]
