You're not the only one. Actually, I just watched Soylent Green about two weeks ago on TVO's Saturday Night at the Movies.

Oddly enough, around the same time, on the drive home from school I noticed a series of placards along a farm frontage that read "No Human Sludge Storage." I completely failed to suppress the urge to shout "Soylent Green is people!"

Whatever you think of his politics, "Hest" was an epic actor, and he will be missed.

Mo_Man,

That reminds me, we still have to meet in hell.

Bike was out this weekend and running quite well. While I was out I thought, "I wonder what Mo_Man is doing on such an awesome early, warm spring day.

_________________________ Well CP The Mrs and myself have been in Fla. Supposedly to bike. Well Fla. has had the wettest Spring in many years, and we got rained off the road. Then the old glide started to have rear brake problems. Well we got back to the farm last night, and I am planing on planting Rape Seed, seems that can substitute for truck and tractor fuel when pressed for the oil, also sunflowers for seeds to burn in the pellet furnace. So today it is finish unloading the coach, check prices for seed, and figure out how badly this trip hurt the wallet.

____________________________ Ashitaka Canola is a Genetically altered form of rape, it supposedly is safe to eat? Any way the oil will blend with fuel oil and burn in trucks and tractors. The sun flowers and stalks look pretty and eat well plus they burn clean in a pellet stove.

And rapseed isn't safe?/ Because with the exceptionof sunflower oil, most people around here reach for , what I think is rapeseed oil. It's calle d Rapsöl.

Stolen largely from cited bits in Wikipedia:
The word "canola" was derived from "Canadian oil, low acid." Canola was developed through conventional plant breeding from rapeseed, an oilseed plant with roots in ancient civilization. The word "rape" in rapeseed comes from the Latin word "rapum," meaning turnip. The negative associations with the word "rape" resulted in the more marketing-friendly name "Canola". The change in name also serves to distinguish it from regular rapeseed oil, which has much higher erucic acid content.
