____ Popping road pimples in the slow lane of life. Now how to explain such a title. At 44N in Michigan we get some very cold winters, and since the road commission keeps the roads plowed, the frost goes very deep. We have had about two weeks of warming and the snow is melting, so too the frost in the ground. As old sol shines on the blacktop roads the asphalt gets warmer than the layers of gravel in the road bed. Some of that frost is melting and the water is being pushed up to the asphalt, this on occasion will blister the asphalt like a pimple. So in the evening as we are walking the dog we take great sport in stepping on these "asphalt road pimples". Now some will squirt water, or if the water has escaped the air will escape as the asphalt is pressed back down where it was. The next warm day they will be back until the frost is out of the roadbed. Oh well it amuses us.
