Holy smokes...that was one hell of a show this year! It looked like daytime for a few seconds...and it looks like some crazy new stuff was tried out. (Some freaky things that seem to spin around and fly in all sorts of directions.)

w00t!

____ In Detroit/Windsor each July both Cities hold a freedom festival, with huge fireworks displays, from both sides of the river. Who would have thought that some Canadians live South of Detroit.

Loyalty to the British Crown is an interesting sentiment coming from a druid!

It's the Romans we bear a grudge against.

Bloody Romans, what have they ever done for us...?

They built roads. And aqueducts. And then they walled off Scotland because they're some types not even the Roman legions wanted to deal with. ;P

I was in the wilderness for the 4th. Mama Nature gave us some natural fireworks. She didn't get it all done on the 4th though; the next day while hiking out we had to cower under a very big rock for about an hour or so while she put on another display.

___________________ Did someone mention Haggis? _____

____ Where I lived in the past, there was an eatery that had Haggis and Blood Pudding on the menu. Plus about ten different Porters and Stouts. I am not a big fan of tripe, so I usually have Briddies.

____ At the Alma Games (Alma Mi.) I was watching and one Lad actually broke The Cabor during his turn at the toss. At the release you could hear it snap then upon impact it broke. "Someone broke the (f....) Cabor" went through the crowd.

I tried a vegetarian haggis in Scotland. By definition that should not exist, but it was on the menu at this place we stayed at on the Isle of Skye so I gave it a shot. It wasn't too bad.

Vegetarian Haggis?

The mind boggles. [crazy]

For years the ingredient list put me off trying the real thing, then one frosty Xmas eve on the bonnie bonnie banks o' Loch Lomond I ordered one on a whim, and was pleasantly surprised.

MoMan: next time you get the chance, try a haggis, they taste nothing like the ingredient list suggests.

I would add the caveat to try the haggis in anice restaurant and not some pub. (not that pubs are bad). but in a fine restaurant Haggis can be delicious.

_____________________ Ah _________ I have had Haggis, I just don't prefer it over a good pork sausage.

____ Vegetarian haggis, WTF. When are the PITA People going to start protecting the Plants of the world. We need a World Plant Federation.

____ We, the people of Michigan were spoiled, The State AG. rules on meat products rules that Only Skeletal Meat may be used in ground meats. We have a phrase here "Michigan grade Michigan Made", there is a huge taste difference to other products.

Haggis can be delicious anywhere. I'm a devoted fan, but it's hard (or expensive) to get in NYC.
