If you hate America so much, why do you stick around? Sheez. I would have expected nothing less from you guys though, you’re so leftist.

*sigh*
Well, for starters, I guess they don't realize you're Canadians.
OTOH, though I'm a cynic, I can't help but feel a bit 'meh' at such a comic. I guess I'm just too American to be that down about Thanksgiving Day. :/ Still, that doesn't make me angry at you...and I fully appreciate your right to state your views. Hell, they're mostly true...but that doesn't make them any palatable after lots of turkey. (I slept well last night.)
Anyway, here's hoping we can see some Change to come in the next few months and years, and maybe we'll do a bit better at using less this time next year?

The truth hurts...
BTW- Did you see that Sarah Palin interview that took place on a turkey farm? She was standing in front of this automatic killing machine for the turkeys. This guy was suffing them down in it headfirst. Then their wings would start flapping and their legs started spasming in their death throes. The reporter never even pointed it out or thought to move the interview out of view of the torturous turkey killing. My God, it was disgusting! It seems just cutting their heads off with an axe would have been more humane, if not quicker.

And that was done right after she "Pardoned" a turkey there! You don't pardon turkeys at the slaughter house, even the President knows better than that!

Ok, a couple of comments....
First off - can any of the Merrikan GCers tell me exactly what the turkeys did wrong??? For what crime are they pardoned?
Secondly, and more seriously: I fully applaud today's JoT. It would have been nice to hear something similar from one or more American citizens, but it does need saying every now and again.
My country used to have an evil Empire. Sure, we did our bit to stop The Third Reich taking over anything they could get their hands on, but there was an awful lot to be ashamed about in the British Empire (which as everyone knows really meant the English Empire).
Similarly, it would not be a good thing to forget just how modern America came into being. The election of Mr Obama seems to offer a real opportunity to bring out everything that is good in the USA, but we must all remember the truth of what took place in the past, at home and abroad.
