I am just realize how MANY reality shows there are now?

I can think of 10 off the top of my head.

Why are they so popular? What is it that makes people stop flicking through their channels to watch people humiliate themselves for a date/money?

Because we wish we could be those people getting $50k to eat a plate of worms. :S

Or because when people laugh about others being humiliated publicly (even if paid for), they can forget their sorry little life of their own, suffering humiliations with no compensations.

(I, for one, can't stand watching those shows. I prefer to dream about what life could be rather than complain about what it is. And when I'm unhappy about the disparity, I just have to get into gear and change what I don't like.)

Um...because TV networks feel like cheaping it out these days, and would rather try to shove this "reality" bullcrap down our throats than pay for quality TV writing, acting, and production?

Spungo has a particular, uhm, "affection", for sheep. [Razz]

Funny you should mention sheep. I am quite attached to them critters as well...

When I was running for elections with my group to become our school's student union, our group was named S.H.E.E.P. (Sheep Helps Everybody Equally Party). The name was inspired from when I came to the group meeting wearing a jumper which looked like it was literally ripped from a sheep and put over me. And so SHEEP was born.

And I was in charge of all the advertising, I made posters using Illustrator and they all had a Sheep theme to them as you can see here.

(This poster is especially relavent to Spungo's "Four legs good, two legs back" comment.)

Now whenever my classmates and such follow others around, we would go "Baaah" (affectionately mind you).

By the way BW, what did you mean by "affection"?

Then just take their wellies off... they'll soon bolt.

Have you ever heard of 'special' hugs? [Smile]

I'd suggest naive. And I'd also suggest doing everything in your power to keep it that way.
[Eek!]
