And yeah, maybe something else was terribly wrong, but clearly she was on a shoestring, and when you're on a shoestring, $23 bucks goes a long way. Fsck man, that's a weeks worth of groceries! Things are better now that I've got my RA raise, and I own my car free and clear, but there was one lovely month last summer when I couldn't even scrape up the $5 I needed to see a doctor.
