Nick Clark RIP
A great loss, and one which, rather foolishly, I feel personally, as he had a radio voice that got inside your head, intelligent, wise, kind, like the kind of benevolent uncle you wish you had. A great broadcaster.
If you haven't heard it his audio diary of his leg amputation and cancer treatment is a marvellous and moving programme.

It may seem foolish to feel loss over someone who isn't part of your family or circle of friends but I felt much the same way with the passing of Linda Smith earlier in the year. I think the nature of Radio 4 is that it's all so very familiar, regular content and presenters who don't come and go. As a regular listener these people do become part of your life and so it's not unsurprising to miss them.

I'm sorry to hear that he didn't make it. I listen to BBC radio at work all the time and listened to him.
