I don't have Tiger, but maybe those here who do would be interested in this article about widget dangers.
See what you think, eh?

Hmm. Maybe they have disabled the auto download thing. I didn't get any evil widget from visiting. I'm not sure that it is too bad if one has to click to download- if you are downloading anything you should trust the source.
Having said that, dashboard really doesn't seem all that polished at the moment. Maybe in a few updates it will hang together better.
I have just discovered core image fun house, which is well worth a fiddle if anyone has tiger. I think you need to have the dev tools installed, but then if you right click an image and open with the fun house, much amazing magick can be done.

I think the thing with Dashboard is there is "potential" for trouble. I agree that Dashboard doesn't seem that polished. It could become cool, but for now it seems kind of not all that great. I have occassionally used the Stickies widget, but overall it seems a little slow. For example, the iTunes widget takes a few seconds to load sometimes, it is faster to Command + tab to iTunes and make whatever changes there, than use the widget.
Still, Tiger is pretty cool. The Core Image Fun House is very fun as well.

auto-install is just as bad a security flaw as anything in IE.
