any one know how much firepower "set in megatons" a gamma ray burst has?

It might help if you declared the source. Are you wondering about a solar CMD (Coronal Mass Discharge) or a super Nova.

If you believe that a black hole is a bagel shaped torrid then part of string theory states that energy may come out along the axis of rotation.

If I remember correctly it has to be Gamma radiation to have enough energy to over come the huge gravities inside the Black Hole.

At this point I believe that all values are guesstimates.

The reason I brought up CMEs/CMDs was because our own Sun just shot some energy out away from earth. Splitting the gap between us and Mercury.
