My son has the opportunity to buy one of these at a significant discount. Has anyone here used one in anger, or do you know anyone who has? Any comments (leaving aside my natural parental concerns that this will only encourage him in his search for new forms of testosterone fuelled idiocy)?

P.S. For your entertainment, here are a couple of things which my son has worked on recently as gaffer or spark.

Never touched one myself but Phillip Bloom likes his
and I'd call that a pretty strong endorsement, with
the caveat that they also buy ad space on his site.
Bloom doesn't seem to be in the habit of glossing
over flaws.

Thanks ½Vast, I showed him the link, and he's ordered one now, so I anticipate high jinks in the near future. Kids eh?

____ Where I worked if some one had to enter a restricted space, they were required to wear one so the observer on the outside knew what was happening.

There are a lot of cyclists starting to wear helmet cams in the UK now to record when cars and lorries cut them up or in some cases simply attack them.

potentially very handy, even if it just makes drivers that spot it a bit more careful when overtaking you.

Happily he doesn't do winter sports, but this is more likely, and no less scary. [crazy]
