I have a projector acer H7530
Sometimes, unwanted, the projector goes black and the power button flashes purple.
THe fan does not run when this happens, which is bad, because even when a projector runs well and you turn the lamp off you want the fan to run for 5 minutes to cool the lamp.
If the projector shuts off because it got too hot, the fan should continue to run to cool the projector.
reading the manual, this is, i think, the code for "lamp retry"
There is no mention of what lamp rety is in the user manual, only themention that the power button flashing indicates this.
I found no mention of lamp retry on any acer internet site.
googleling what is lamp retry was no help.
WHAT IS LAMP RETRY?
I s this my problem.

I'm going to hazard a guess that this is an arc lamp and it's having issues sustaining its arc. Probably bad ballast or maybe a bad power supply. "Retry" is basically "reignite". And no, you can't do it if the lamp is hot.
I use a mercury arc lamp for brightfield imaging on my microscope. If it fails for any reason I just replace the lamp entirely.

____ Some LCD devices use an inverter to get the voltages needed to operate the lamp, if the inverter fails, it will no longer make any of the voltages needed for operation. Some of us in the Ham field are debating what part fails first and if we could save the rest of the parts by Preventive Maintainence, I feel that putting a new inverter on an old lamp will take out the new inverter, just my thoughts.
____ Ash I did Google "lamp retry" and found some descriptions that lead me to believe that Lamp Retry is a timing mode counting down until the next safe retry for lighting the lamp.
