I just purchased a used catalyst 2950T-24 off ebay, and attempted to enter privileged exec mode. the previous owner had a secret password, that i did not guess in three tries. I attempted to preform the password recovery, but as soon as i issued the break command the switch stopped echoing my text to hyperterminal. so now it does not respond at all to my commands. any thoughts. I restarted the switch a few times, with and with out breaks, and my pc. Also i checked the port settings for com1 (9600, 8, none, 1, none)no dice. thanks in advance.

Random aside: PuTTY 0.60 now has a "Serial" option in addition to SSH/Raw/telnet... (I figure this may be a pleasant change for PuTTY fans)

The procedure states:
Use the following terminal settings:
Bits per second (baud): 9600
Data bits: 8
Parity: None
Stop bits: 1
Flow Control: Xon/Xoff

Note the difference in flow control settings...

Did you sucessfully get it reset?

If you are still having issues getting in the flash, remember you have to initialize it before you can use/access it.
