Are you talking about a free hosting site like geocities that also gives ya php? Or just some reference sites?

Not the fastest, not the most reliable, but the only ones I have found that support php and MySQL on a free account.

tripod.co.uk offers PHP support (last time I checked, the .com one did not). Banner ads and such though, so I wouldn't exactly recommend it.

If you're doing a personal website/blog or something, you might be better off just seeing if you can get someone (as in an actual person) to host you.
Pick-me.net is a good resource. Although, some potential hostesses might like to see some examples of webpages you have made, and you'll probably be better off actively using the shoutbox and hosts databases to find one, rather than sitting in the hostees database and waiting.
