Papa, good to see that you are still posting here. I thought of you a while back. Good to see your name come up.

Man...I miss AY2K, but the insane RL frenzy over Y2K, which was a real issue (vs the Mayan nonsense), I can't say I seriously miss that.

I also don't miss dialup, which I think I was using until later that year.

But I do miss the marginally nicer world of that era and the non-existence of TSA. :/

I don't miss having to use dialup but I do miss having it available as backup in case of power failure. A few years back a big storm took the power out for ten days but I stayed on line with a laptop and dialup. [Cool]

I just realized recently that my almost-1-year-old work laptop has a modem jack on the back. I'm somewhat confused what I could possibly use it for these days.

heh, I had to share this email snippet, from a very kind person who cheered us up this morning. A Mayan tie-in would have been fun...

-------------
I wish you continued success for JOT in 2013 and beyond.

Too bad you couldn't have made an 'After Mayan-2K' tie in to
your AY2K strip, giving it some weird continuity spin.
Ancient Mayans requiring sacrificial gophers? Extreme
HyperThreading and '666' core cpu sends all the AY2K crew
back to Mayan times?!

Thanks for the wonderfully entertaining comics, keep them
coming!

Terry

TUBES ROCK

I'm sorry, did I say tubes? I meant TTBs. [Big Grin]

Oh the TTBs...... Fawn still has my heart.

And the boots - it's been a decade since we've seen a nice pic with those boots in them. [Big Grin]

I also miss AY2K (although my company blocked these forums, so I rarely bounce over here anymore). In fact, after-y2k.com is still what I have bookmarked for this site. (Thanks again for updating that joT link, Snaggy, even if it did only have an effect for a day [Smile] ).

markhb: I updated it again a few days ago, it should work now!

Oh and did I mention we are re-running AY2K over on Tap? Kinda like the Director's edition, with a few tweaks here and there...

Tweaks? Now we're all going to have to read the entire thing again.

I'd call you evil, but I suspect I'll enjoy it too much.

Snaggy: Could you publish an RSS feed for the re-run of AY2K?

I'm guessing that if one logs into Tapastic, new comics become obviously visible, but while I'm /quite/ happy to view comics on said site, I have no desire to have _yet-another-login_. (I see that you can connect it Facebook, but that would require having Facebook. Ditto Twitter.)

Yep. I miss AY2K. But I REALLY miss the tube-talking-babes. Geez, that's so Seth MacFarlane of me. But I can't help it… they're just so… so… so… SMART! One glimpse of their tubes, and I was hooked!
