Okay so I thought I'd go ahead and introduce myself as this is what this bit is all about...right?

So... Hi!

My name is Kate and I'm a photographer from Cheshire in the U.K. I have an obsession with being random. I'm a bit mad for some people's tastes but who cares, I'm me. There ain't no changing that! I have many passions, including reading, singing, writing, anime, photoshop and more that I just don't have the energy to type right now. ( Plus I have finger cramp from typing [Frown] )

I came across this forum when I was browsing results on google ( not sure what for ) and I found a topic about men preferring women with long hair rather than short. I read every post and thought " Yeah! These people are cool!" So here I am!

Kate xx

I just think it's important that all you new female geeks understand that my hair is long and my split ends are few. Oh, and welcome, I guess. Gotta remember to be welcoming while I strut in front of the new females...

Well, anyway, if I get too annoying, there's a large, cylindrical pipe of some sort floating around that may help you forget I'm here... The petri dishes in the fridge are mine, but you're welcome to help yourself to the plate of cookies they've been dripping on. Oh, did I say cookies? I meant bisquits.

Hi EL! Any links to your photoshops? There are several b3ta fans lurking around the dark corners of GC. Welcome.

Hi EL - welcome to the madhouse.

Quite a bit of GC is random so you'll feel right at home here. Just remember to preview your posts before you send them and you won't go too far wrong.

Warning! You can waste a lot of time here. That's not always a good thing. . .

Seconded. Plus, we're pretty relaxed. Mostly. Errr... Welcome anyway.

I'm feeling for some scones, now. What's your favourite flavour?

Welcome, Kate. I think I've been through your Ellesmere Port... isn't there an outlet shopping thingy there? I seem to remember a Borders... [Confused]

Woo!

Spungo you're right there is a Borders, on The Cheshire Oaks Retail Outlet thingymabobble. I'm surprised to hear that someone knows where I live as it's such a small and industrial place really...

Thanks all for the welcomes, nice to know that you're so friendly!

Oh and I hope to waste LOTS of time here. [Smile]

Yeah, I used to skive off work (in Warrington) and drive down there to peruse the books... and maybe steal one or two... (proper scally, me... only kidding).

edit: btw -- is you a woolyback, then? [Wink]

[Embarrassed] Don't you wink at me thinking you're so smart!

I am a woolyback I suppose...even if I did have to look it up on Urban Dictionary...

I love Borders. [Smile]

Hot chocolate with cream and a few Manga books and I'm sorted until the place closes. They should make it 24 hour though!

at any rate Jace likes pretty and shiny things... and all the other women in this place are now threatened for attention... and... er...

welcome?

Wait. What's that supposed to mean. 1: She's 16. Too young for me. 2: I...I... I've got nothing. I like shiny.

And thank you [crazy]

Isn't anyone bothered that I'm so young?

Posted by WinterSolstice (Member # 934) on June 13, 2007, 10:49:

Nope. A lot of the members here joined as kids - quite a few are still around.

And I don't think you're the youngest here either. ;-)

lighten up, Cpl. It's just jokes.
I just think its funny where "you're pretty." remarks have gotten you in the past, even if you weren't the one saying them... [evil]

Hehe! I'm twice your ages, you wippersnappers! (That's so weird!!!! I was sure, when I was fifteen, that I'd be dead by thirty. Now I hardly feel old at all- 'cept when I go to a dance club.)

You will know you are old when you start worrying if you look young enough to get into clubs! [Frown]

'swhat I'm talkin' about! I'm starting to look strange with those little electrical-tape exes on my nips where it used to be hot. The trousers are still tight, but now I only wear tight mesh shirts in my bad dreams. Fortunately, you're never too old for kinky-boots.

At least my Peter Pan tights still fit. That's something.

My... Whatever do you mean!?!?!

And that Cpl might just be a Sgt here next month. I'm crossing my fingers that the board selects me. Now the trick is to find me a woman to call me "Sergeant O" in bed [evil]

Shiny is good and I do believe that I was 16 when I joined this place.

Do the doctors recommend that you dance at your age?

No, should we be?

Geekdom doesn't start (or end) at your 16th, 18th, or 21st birthday. There is a fair-sized group of teenagers here. They (the ones that stick around, anyway) contribute plenty to the conversation, more than many people who are ostensibly adult are able to. It's not MySpace.

And people stick around for a while.
