Hi Everyone

I thought it was about time I introduced myself, I work in tech support at a university in New Zealand. I've got a BSc in computer science and planned to go into programming as a career but somehow got side tracked into my current job. My main interest in comp sci is in 3d graphics but having picked up horse riding as a hobby I haven't had a lot of time to work on it lately. [crazy]

Hey there, Skylady, and welcome to the forums!

Horse riding, huh? Don't suppose you ended up as an extra/stuntwoman in LOTR? [Smile]

G'day Skylady, and welcome.

It's appropriate that your first greeting was from Spungo, he's something of an honorary New Zealander, as I'm sure you'll learn if you hang around.

Welp, I wonder what we'll have to do about having 2 sky's arround here. Almost like the duo-neo that we had.

Welcome to the boards, and enjoy your stay.

err, back? I thought her name was SkyLady... Skylady isn't Skyar, Tut, if that is what you were thinking -- and if it were, Skylar is still here.

Oh! I see. I was just looking through the 15 freshest, and didn't look at her recent posts list.

Tip: a cool way to see someone's recent posts is to click on the "Posts:" word underneath someone's post... it doesn't display as a hyperlink but it is.

dragonman found that one. [Smile]

What part of NZ did you manage to visit Snaggy?

from Aukland, down to the glow worm caves( did the cave adventure tour, what a hoot [Smile] ), to New Plymouth, were I blew my knee out tramping around Mt Egmont. [Eek!]

Then down to the South Island... Abel Tasman, Queensland... tramp tramp tramp... it was awesome. A gorgeous flight up to to Mt. Cook too... whoa!
[Big Grin]
Then back up to ChristChurch, then North island again and those magnificent northern volcanoes...

Where yes, I did almost die three times (once each on Tongariro, Ruaprhu, and Ngauruhoe) but yep I did climb to the top of "Mt. Doom" and saw a glorious ring rainbow in the crater! [Big Grin]

Ngauruhoe
 -

Then up to Rotorua for a bit... then alas, off to Sydney. It was an AMAZING trip, desperately want to go back soon. [Smile]

Oh come now, Sydney's not that bad, is it? [Wink]

I've only been to NZ once, and that was on a business trip to Wellington. Only had one weekend there, plus shared hire car with a colleague, so only limited opportunity for sightseeing, unforunately [Frown]
