Reminds me of a joke:

A girl is at school, and the teacher says: "Make a sentence with the word topics in".

"Where is all the topics".

The teacher says "You can't mix a singular with a plural like that! Where is your grammar?"

And the girl says....

"She's at home with my mum, watching the telly!"

It's so we can laugh at people who are looking for love.

You can't beat a bit of schadenfreude, especially when accompanied by bratwurst & beer

Yes, but not nearly as silly as the fact that I can't see the word Klingon without thinking about that lame Star Trek / toilet paper joke.

You mean the one about the Captain's log?

I think the point of the 'lookin for love' section is more about talking about your daily attempts to find love, or advice, as opposed to a dating service. There have been a few successful relationships started on these boards, but not because somone put up a one (crappy) paragraph add, and sat back and waited for replies. If you want it to even *potentially* work, try actually saying something about yourself.

Ok, well, I'm 19 - I have three large breasts and a *censored* down below. I like sheep, and meeting other sheep. Tics really get me down, as does margerine, Birmingham, the Daily Mail, and laddered tights. I'm an aquarius on the cusp of Leninist. I watch midget porn. My favourite dessert is whipped tripe. My best Summer holidays have been in Ibiza and the M5/M6 interchange. My favourite CD is "Val Doonican sings NWA". On Wednesdays I like to play naked twister with Sue Lawley.

You forgot the part about being severely addicted to sniffing gas (petrol) fumes to get high.

No, there was a sorta personals thread here an eon ago... But in the light of how most the GC couples ended up, I think most people here are a bit more gun shy. Today has been quiet compared to what the forums used to be.

Welcome to the boards! Don't mind the over eager troll hunters who appear to have marked you troll before giving you a chance. In general, if no one replies to a thread posting a followup to move it to the top of the freshest 15 or Todays Active topics typically is looked down on. So, avoid "double posting," with the exception of replying multipule people (which some people here may still groan at you about), and they might back off a little. There geeks, their anal by nature.

Nah, and it's all worked out rather nicely the way this thread has gone.

Awww, that's the nicest thing anyone's said about me [blush] It's good to know someone appreciates the collective warped sense of humour around here.

Long time no post anyway, Grey_girl. Last time I can remember you being here we were discussing female Jedi robe ownership, which resulted in slightly less marriage proposals than I expected.

That's they're a contraction for "They Are." "There" would be used if I were to point at something over there, "their" is a possessive. As in:

Look over there; their dog is absolutely crazy, and they're not too sane looking either!
