Whereas before the JoT page content covered the entire width of my screen, recently it has been compacted into the middle third. This leaves me with 2/3 of the screen as just white space.
Years ago when I was maintaining my local Apple User Group's website, I was told to keep the white space as low as possible without impacting the content. Have the "rules" changed?
In addition the strip of the previous 5 - 6 JoTs that was below the current one has disappeared. This strip allowed me to see at a glance if I had missed any JoTs. Any way to bring it back?

Use an RSS reader like NewsBlur - then you'll know what you've read and haven't read.
The page looks A-OK to me. Besides, Snaggy is modifying the site to better support their income/revenue.
If you really want to help shape the direction of the free webcomic you enjoy, become a Patreon or SuperFan and financially support the artists.

When we get an exclusive sponsor like we have this week, we remove most of the images on our page to feature their ad.
I think you're thinking of "trapped white space"? What you're seeing as white space is what is normally the third column of ads and in-house promotions we run along the right-hand side.
Send me a screenshot if you get a chance.
I miss the little JoT thumbnails too, but I really, really like having a sponsor this week.

Ah, that makes sense. I tend to "tune out" ads on web pages as 99.999999% of the time the products are of no use or interest to me. Thus the LACK of those ads got my attention.
BTW, I figure you do 3 JoTs per week and post them on Monday, Wednesday, & Friday. Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday I read the Macalope's posts.
