I had both the seasonal, and the H1N1 today. The doc says it takes about 10 days to build up immunity for the H1N1.
Anyone else getting/got them?

You lucky Canuck, you!
I have no idea when I'll be able to get it - I'm too old...

N&S likely fell under some special category. I am still in the not qualified group.... Mom and bro will get theirs soon as they work with seniors... I am likely going to have to do without till all the seniors and "at risk" get theirs...

I'm not at risk. Lots of other people are. So I haven't even tried.
I did get something though. Started as a sore throat, then a fever, and then it's turned into a pretty standard head cold. Ended up taking my first sick day in three years over that on Tuesday; yesterday and today it's just the usual sneezing and coughing crap.
Three bloody years. Everyone around me would get sick and have their asses nailed to the ground but me? I was fine. I'd get frickin' coughed on, and I'd be fine. And now I'm sick. Without even being around someone else who was sick. WTF.

macmcseboy, they opened it up to all BCers this week, so you can get one now.

I got my tamiflu in the mail the other day (free offer, long story, basically in case there is a shortage and after you ge t the flu there is none left at the pharacies) What was interesting was how to dose adult capsules for children in the event no childrens capsules are available.
basically, rather than splitting the pill, dissolve it in water and give only a portion of the water to the child based on wieght.

____ Ash, Glad to hear from you. Out here in this county, we are not very high on the states board of health ratings. I am still waiting for the "at risk" group to open.

I got mine from the evil socialized health system a couple of weeks go, we had a couple of weeks of 'high-risk patients only', then it was open for everyone.
The evil socialized quack who gave me the jab took the opportunity to laugh at my broken arm before sticking a needle in it, the [email protected]@rd.
10/10 for preventative care.
0/10 for bedside manner.

Yes! In typical military fashion, my whole company was lined up in the hallway of our building and given the H1N1. Those of you that know me fairly well can tell you that I am a conspiracy nut. I don't trust whats in the shots they give us. I objected, but in end, they one. I was given a direct order to receive the shot, and needless to say, was not happy about it. I then got sick 2 days later, and its been kicking my ass for the last week and a half. Ugh.

If you or any of your soldier buddies start using unusually profane language, or find yourselves gazing with desire at photos of kangaroos and sheep, seek medical advice. ]

Or add Spungo as a friend on Facebook now that you have something in common.

No shot for me, yet. We have plenty available here, but there are zero cases anywhere near me, so I think I'm good for now.

hey Bull3t, I came across a terrorist's blog, among other stuff he was saying that the H1N1 is from Bush's bio-weapons and the vaccine is mandatory mind control, for us "obese baboons". or something like that. Wild, eh?
I had the H1N1 shot, then Snaggy said I should've gotten the seasonal one as well, when the volunteer asked me if I wanted both I was all confused and just got the H1N1. Then I spent a couple hours getting the seasonal flu shot at a walk-in clinic, (the first walk-in wasn't giving out seasonal flu shots until the next day, so I had to go to another clinic across town). Afterwards my arm really hurt and radiated down my back, and was very tender. I had some common reactions. But anyway I can now go amongst the masses in about a week without concern. sweet.

I didn't get the vaccine, but I got the virus! Verily, it sucketh. Felt really bad. Got a secondary infection that had to be knocked back with antibiotics, and even after that I still coughed a bit for a week.
That said, I had Norwalk once and really and truly thought I was going to die. On the toilet. Given a choice I'd contract the swine again.

Nitro, it wouldn't surprise me
The seasonal is important, as well.. Or say they say. Every single time I've ever got the flu shot, I got sick for at least 2 weeks. Its nasty.

____ Hi All, Here sits TheMoMan trying to get his H1N1 shot with out jumping lines or playing the HBP card. The Local Board of Health informed me maybe next year.
____ So my choices are drive to an open county, about seventy miles or wait till next year, sure hope I don't catch it before then.
