Ok, this isn't really a joke, but I found it to be so riotously funny, that I thought this would be the best place to post it.

Microsoft's Guide to 1337

Ridicule gladly accepted. [Big Grin]

The saddest part of that is MicroSoft probably has a raft of people on staff making $100K/year writing 'tech sheets' like this one [Roll Eyes]

They have a second page, linked to from that one, on "griefers", or the kind of folks that I always associated with, "lol! woot! wtf? stfu, camper"

Yay! Megatokyo!

Although, personally I use this rather clunky Java applet for my 1337 translations:

They just blew their "we want to help the parents" facade with this line. I'm sure the series of words this passage refers to is of concern... to Microsoft.

LOL.. I play Counter strike- which means that you MUST be able to talk some 1337..
Otherwise you are the n00b and 1d107...
Well, anyways.. I was wondering if there is any plug-in for ICQ/MSN or any IM software that can translate your plain text into 1337, just like those java-applet converters?
That would be infinitely cool I figure...

That is fun.

Sample.

More or less, "l337" is an excuse for illiteracy. A sad comment when old calculator jokes have become common currency of communication.
