Right, this isn't my fault - one of the guys in my maths class told it...

sin(x), cos(x), tan(x) and e^x go to a party. Soon after entering, all the trig functions are happily dancing away, drinking and doing all the other assorted things that are good to do at a party. But e^x is sat in the corner on his own, nursing a beer. tan(x) goes up to him and says, "Come on e^x, get involved. You've got to integrate!". "Oh whats the point, it'd make no difference", replies e^x.

Sorry [Frown]

How do you all do that? Seriously I want to know. Whenever I accidentally tell my computer to double post, it says that flood protection is on, and I need to wait 60 seconds before I can post again. How do you do it?

I swear it's never happened to me before... I usually have everything under control. I just don't understand it...

I used to think double-posting was the preserve of total fsckwits - folk who shouldn't be let anywhere near a mouse, for the sake of themselves as much as anything. But, like halitosis, and scabies, double-posting can afflict anyone. I pray it never happens to you, LittleFish - but we'll all be there to support you if it ever does. [Smile]

You know what, I don't know. If I did, it wouldn't happen.

There seems to be some correlation between impatience and unresponsive browsers in my case. I can't even just blame windows since I've double-posted in Safari and Mozilla as well.

I think if you get the second click in before the transaction has fully executed on the GC server, a second copy will be received, almost in parallel, avoiding the flood blocking...

or! or!

There could be a huge black hole that doubles everything that goes through it, but makes the server think it's one object. Thus allowing the two objects to be sent through at one time, and place at exactly the same moment. Thus creating a double post. This is an obvious answer to this question. Then again... this is all purely speculation [Wink]

I'll go with TACO - One of the scripts who've been nagging me recently does irregular double-posting although I made sure the request wasn't sent twice. I have no idea why, so it must be an error in the universe. [Eek!] [crazy] [Big Grin]
