Seriously....'thundersnow' ?!
[quoth NYT: "He said a phenomenon called thundersnow — essentially, a thunderstorm with snow instead of rain that he said had the potential to put down a “tremendous” amount of snow — was possible." ] I got while the getting was good (train was SRO; almost .jp style), and roared when I saw that, esp. given the relative lack of snow received so far.

Anyway, in preparation for getting snowed in, I opened a tab to Netflix and imagine my surprise when right below the fold I noticed "The Interview" is on there. I saw a trailer for it when I went to see Interstellar and thought "okay, that's stupid...wouldn't pay to watch that" and definitely felt the same way, even in light of the hacking nonsense. But free...while held captive during a snow storm of historic proportions? Sure, what the hell. [Smile] See ya on the other side.

On a more practical note, I hope everyone in the path of this mess is home or well on the way to it and stays warm, dry and safe. [Smile]

Thundersnow rocks! I've experienced it a few times, but haven't heard that since I was way way back east.

Happy Snow Day east coast, stay safe!

While we're talking about things that might not have actually happened to the author...that friggin' snow - where is it? [Razz]

I suppose it's not bad that I'm working from home now (I am, really...just waiting for some blue bars to go by), but sheesh - got about 4" of snow. Definitely not the end of the world as we know it.

The actual result of any given winter storm is generally inversely proportional to the amount of hype.

Regarding The Interview, I caught it on NetFlix over the weekend. I waffled a bit over whether I wanted to show support for free speech or avoid rewarding Sony for capitalizing on hype. Free speech won. I was mildly entertained, but not nearly as much as the elder clublet was.
