Some time ago I commented on our now deceased cat not drinking Half & Half from a dairy container made of plastic vs waxed cardboard. We now have two much younger cats actually near one year old at this point. Yesterday we (the humans) ate at a fast food place, that business had some neat containers for side dishes, so I brought them home, washed them. This morning the MRS went to feed the cats with the new plastic dishes, The cats walked away, I mean they would not eat their normal food off of those dishes. We then tried putting the same food on their china dishes same result. Final test new food from the package on freshly washed china, yup BREAKFAST TIME. WE also notice that the larger of the cats will not drink half & half from a plastic saucer, however a china one is fine.
This has given me pause and ideas for future tests on food packaging.
