So, it's the big firework night of the year in the UK, and I would ask you all to spare a thought for Rowan a.k.a. "Scaredy-cat'. She couldn't settle in her basket, so I had to make her a little nest, next to the computer desk, so she could stay with her daddy [shake head]

Mr Snupy's cat, Wollis, is hiding behind the couch, too tonight. Poor things.

My cats have this to look forward to next year. [Frown]

My cat has never displayed any particular fear of fireworks, or thuder either. My dog on the other hand...

I wonder why it freaks some of them out so much?

Doesn't it seem a bit odd that the day Guy Fawkes was stopped from blowing up the houses of Parliament is celebrated by blowing smaller things up?

Hopefully the day wasn't too hard on Rowan

Let's hear it for Guy Fawkes - the only man ever to enter parliament with good intentions. [Applause]

The druid-hound really hates fireworks, which is a problem as we live quite close to the river where most of the major fireworks displays in Melbourne are put on. Felis-druidicus on the other hand, couldn't care less.
