I know my internet connection at work is totally sugarl*mps at the best (broken down ISDN that refuses to run at more than single channel 64k, and that "dirty") but today it's been the absolute pits, endless refusals to handshake, dropped lines, timed out connections, induced kernel panics, you name it...

Then I come home to my much older machine with its much more reliable (and normally rock solid) broadband connection and what do I get?

Server errors, refusals to respond, Safari quit unexpectedly, yadda, yadda, yadda... Posts to boards that don't (post that is).

Is there some kind of massive solar flare, cosmic wind upheaval, etc., that I haven't heard about - or am I just having a sh***y day?

Wildly anecdotal evidence of last (say 18) hours correlated vs ??solar flares?? equals - what?

Funny you should mention it, there was a rather large coronal mass ejection (2 days ago) with a major aurora display last night as a result...
SpaceWeather

I didn't have any probs with my connection, though.

Yeah, seemed really slow earlier on. Seems OK now, though.

Haven't noticed a thing, but then my equipment here in the bunker is shielded from such things. [Smile]

They must be cleaning the Internet today, though they normally did that in the first of April.

Glad it wasn't just me then...

Of course - I think we might need a few more positives to reach a statistically significant result on this..

Then again everyone else does it so why not
