I'm sure you were all rivitted to your seat waiting for this announcement....
Vancouver Island has been named North America's best island for the sixth year in a row in a Condé Nast Traveler readers' choice survey which also awarded sixth-place honours to P.E.I.
The November issue of the magazine, which was released to newsstands Thursday, also ranked B.C.'s Gulf Islands the third-best North American Island.
Vancouver and Victoria also rang in as the second- and third-best cities in the Americas behind Argentina's Buenos Aires. http://www.cbc.ca/consumer/story/2007/10/26/travel-survey.html
They don't mention macmseboy, Darren Duncan, toobe, Titanium Warrior, or Geek Culture Headquarters by name, but we all know they were the attractions that pushed us over the top.
If you don't know where Vancouver Island is, or if you think it's a tiny island off the shore of the City of Vancouver, please see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vancouver_Island
btw, in my humble opinion, Tofino's Wickaninnish Inn wasn't so great. Go there for dinner and enjoy the view, and stroll along the amazing beach, but stay somewhere else.
There, my tourist-board work is done.

I'll second that. I was only in Vancouver for a long weekend last year, but it was thoroughly delightful. It's one of the top 10 on our list of places we could move to when our kids move out.

Last year the family went up to Seattle on vacation and spend a couple of nights up in Victoria as well. We left thinking that next time we'd spend the entire week up in Victoria and skip Seattle. ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)
