Since we have a place for this sort of thing now...
A demo for a full conversion of the game Freespace 2 into Battlestar Galactica has been released and is available for Windows, Mac and Linux. You do not need a copy Freespace 2 as the source code that game was released by the owners when they were facing bankruptcy and is built into the demo.

My first impressions of the Windows version are that the installer could use some work and it's very slow to start up (particularly if you forget to change the resolution to something your system supports ), but otherwise it's pretty cool.
