Wolfie
I am going to be the first here to reply before someone in a bad mood comes along. They will be telling you the same information I am about to share with you, but I think in a slightly less polite way.
I think you are posting in the wrong forums. You are welcome to stick around and post but I have a few suggestions for you if you choose to do so.
1. Punctuation, spelling and grammar go a very long way here at GC. No one is perfect and mistakes do happen but at least try.
2. Before posting a "Wanted: female" sign post a bit. Get to know the people here on the boards and let them get to know you. It has been said many times in much smoother language than mine but here goes: This is a community. We are friends and acquaintances to a certain extent. Someone just barging in like you have doesn't work very well.
There. Good luck.
Oh yeah-----Im not sweet, not wild and thank god not in Oklahoma.

As for the boy on the hunt, you're in the wrong place. Good luck on http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/
Better yet, go out and find somebody in real life. It comes off as less desperate that way.

Was it just me or have you posted basically the same thing multiple times?
Try moving back to where you came from if you moved and got screwed.
If not try hanging yourself. I hear after you get past the suffocating choking feeling it is total bliss. Enjoy.

The gene pool has gotten really dirty lately, a few chlorine tabs is just what the doctor has prescribed. In this case, a piece of rope, some soap and a stool would be a suitable substitution for the said tabs.

I'll third it, though I don't think hanging himself will be painful enough for him. I saw we stab him with about 100 little metal screwdrivers, and while they are still inside him we run conductable wire connection all of them, then send a nice little "shock" through the wire. Then we'll rip the screwdrivers out of him and stab him through the eye...
Ok, sorry, in a tad morbid mood right now and I'll stop while I'm ahead.

How about a murder made to look like a suicide? (relives a KotoR2 dark-side moment )

Have any of you posting these jokey encouragements to Wolfie to top himself, had any experience of suicide in your own families? If you had, you will know that it can rip a family apart. My father's brother killed himself some 30 years ago, and the long term effect on both his widow and children has been pretty foul. My mother's mother also had a relative hang himself in her guest bedroom. That man's son, my great uncle Walter, though possessed of a wonderful dry wit, was also emotionally damaged for life. Wolfie is probably an emotionally secure strong young man with an excellent sense of humour, but we do not know that, and a lot of young men do kill themselves. Suicide is the most incredibly selfish act, for that reason I do not worry much about the person who does it, but the mess of heartache and guilt that it creates for those they leave behind is serious.
So it's not that it's poor taste, it's about being responsible on the internet. Yayawoman is right. This is not a joking matter.

Who said it was a joke? Honestly I could care less. I have had three friends kill themselves. One because the other did...so they say. All you can do is shake your head and call them idiots.
I'm not for suicide, but if someone kills themselves...oh well. The world is screwed up and so is the human race. The sooner we are gone the better. Geez, when did I become so bitter? ![[Confused]](confused.gif)

I apologise for my irresponsible comment.
I should know better being that my uncle tried to OD about 10 years ago.

Right, because if an off-hand joke on an internet forum causes him to off himself, he was clearly destined to stay on this planet for a long time. (You think we're the only ones who'd get to him?)
(And yes, thanks, someone I was close to killed himself when he was a kid. Members of my family had miscarraiges, too, am I supposed to stop making dead baby jokes?)
We must be responsible on the internet, because it's Serious Fucking Business.

You're my hero, Dem. My response would have been so much meaner and less tactful.

Now, I like a bad-taste joke just as much as the next one-legged black lesbian, but I have to agree with YaYawoman and Callipygous (again?? and so soon!) on this one, but for slightly different reasons. I take on board what Demosthenes has said about the likelihood of the remark actually influencing real events, but my feeling is that this remark was just cheap, and entirely unnecessary.
Therefore, I am pleased to see that Wick has apologised and a certain level of common decency has been restored.

I also believe telling a person they should commit suicide goes too far. Would it be OK to insult a man by calling him a racial slur just because you have friends of the same ethnicity? Not quite the same thing, but I put it on the same level as to how inappropriate the insult is.
I thought this was Geekculture. The suicide/death flames directed towards our latest inept newbie remind me of comments I would hear from the popular assholes in high school.

It reminds me more of the bullying I got in junior high. My first crime was being born. My second was not killing myself. ![[Roll Eyes]](rolleyes.gif)

You're right. I'm no better than them. Neither are you. Soaking up whatever abuse you got while going through the school system, only to release it later in the form of passive-aggressive, self-superior commentary on an internet message board makes you no better than the cheerleader who didn't invite you to her homecoming party.

A lot of people talk about trouble in High School, well throughout my life I find I had more trouble in Elementary School than I did in high school, though in 1-6 I was relatively fat and unactive. One kid gave me a lot of trouble, Nathen, always on my ass or threatening me. After sixth grade my parents sent me to a little private school, I went with my best friend since first grade John. We lost contact with pretty much everyone we had gone to school with prior to it. During that year I changed significantly mentally and physically. After middle school I started going to school at a much larger private high school, Bishop Manogue, here many of the kids from Elementary school went there. No one remembered me, some looked at me like they were trying to figure out where they knew me from, even people who I used to be really great friends with. Then I was getting something out of my locker one day and I hear this voice. "Where the hell have you been Spencer?". There stood Nathen. Out of all my friends, the only person who could recognise me the one who tried to make my life hell. I always thought it was an interesting turn of events. I had so much social problems and bullies and such in elementary school. Maybe kids in my city grew over the bully stage earlier than in previous generations, because I haven't seen any bullying.
