So I will be the first one to admit it....I am a BAD breaker upper! The post from Bull3t has really got me thinking. The last few guys I have dated I have ended them all via email...I have issues with facing my break up in the eyes...what is my deal? Is there a good way to break up? Ughhghg...

So now is the question, will you do it differently next time?

Here's my quick guide to break up.
-It's got to be face to face for the actual deed. If there was a ton of anger before-hand, wait. -If that is impossible, use the phone. -If that is impossible, write a letter. Hand written. Fedex it. (Works especially well for ex-to-be's named John or Jane.)
-avoid IM and email at all costs. It's too easy to misinterpret things, or even for emails to be lost, forwarded, or posted publicly.
-video conference?... hmmm, that might count as face to face, I'm not sure.
Please note: I haven't broken up with anyone since before email and IM was invented.

If it's a serious enough relationship to require an official "break up", then yeah it should be face-to-face. Barring of course situations where doing so would put someone at risk. No one should break up with an abusive partner in person. ![[Eek!]](eek.gif)

I must apologise. I know I shouldn't write what I will write, but those stupid hormones are hardly controlables, as my brain isn't used to them yet. I just hope it will get better over time.

Of course not. You do it through police. ![[evil]](graemlins/evil.gif)

That depends. Are there any fun-looking tourist attractions there or along the way?

It's official..I am the devil! While at a party, I brought this topic up, even the coldest of hearts agreed to never break up over email or text. So, for my New Year's resolution I decided to at least phone break up with my next ex boyfriend, or become celebate like Steeny:) I had no idea how tacky I was...

Ms. Geeky Goddess of All,
I salute you!
Not only are you the smartest woman in Tennessee History, but you are very, very brave.
Hoo-Rah! I mean it.
Here you go thinking you did something bad, or shameful, or worse (no offence, I vote for worse), but you put it all on the line.
Or on line. Right here on the world wide web for all the internets to see!
Very brave. Very! Yes-madam, indeedy!
Wow!
I tried to send you my deepest respects here in your geeky mail, but it is full! Clean it out and I will say to you in person that you are brave and SMART!
You go girl!
BUT!
You may be brave. But you seem so sad. It hurts to read your post-it notes here in the geek petrie culture.
Pseudomonas? Gram negative? I do not know.
You break up with your loves with instant breakfast internets. One after another, after another. Just like candy.
And I read you are planning on breaking up with your next lover who you have not even met. Oh my! If he reads here and desires you he is a silly man. Or a mast-o-christ!
Sad. Sad. Sad. I cry for you. Really.
You seem all bundled up and tight and afraid. Tears. All your loves die like leaves in autumn.
Run. Run. Run. From love. BREAK UP is the only way.
Some where. Some how. Somebody must have kicked you around some. (I read that in a song!) But it seems to fit, no offence, please!
Maybe try not breaking up and not keeping your heart in a tupperware box neat and tidy in the refrigerator? Try?
I say if you meet a man who lives far away to love him. Then you should meet him to say you do not love him. Is all.
None of my business, but you seem so real. I try to help! Please us-derstand, can you?
I say this because I think of Mrs. Geek 2Me! this year.
Better or Worse she promised.
There has been better. There has been lots of worse.
This year she got three times worse! Really.
Once was my cancer. And my surgery.
Bad. Bad. Bad.
When I got out of surgery she was there. Always. And she had two worses before that this year!
I had bags hanging everywhere. Tubes stuck in everything. And the one thing that did not have a tube, I could not reach and she reached it for me.
Gross-Toasties!
Love is not easy. But when it is true it is worth it.
Think of Mr. Druid and his sick wife and their tears. And their joys. And their chilluns. And the chilluns joys and tears.
True love.
Everything else is just practice until you find yours.
Practice hard and good.
Be ready.
Have a great day!
Mr. Geek 2U!
