Been there. Expect a week or so of disbelief, followed by a couple of weeks of extremely anti-social behaviour, staying home every night in an attempt to avoid seeing either one of them. For a month or so after that, you'll have to leave the room or start crying every time you see them. That will be followed by a couple of months when you can just about handle seeing them separately, but not together. 2-3 months after that, you'll see them around and pretend like you're okay with the situation; either you'll be all nicey nice, or you'll proudly and grandly make it clear to them that you just don't care any more. But you'll still be miserable inside. ... And then, a while after that, you'll finally realise what an idiot you were to ever fall for a guy like that, or be friends with a girl like that. All your latent bitterness and regret will fall away from you, and you'll be able to move on with your life.

Shorten or lengthen time allowed for this process, depending on strength of crush.

OR... you could learn from my bitter experience and do your very best to put it behind you immediately. I would recommend making it known how pissed off/sickened you are, and then cutting all ties and moving up, up and away to better things.

Easier said than done, of course. But good luck!

That part never came for me. It's been a year and a half already.
I still cannot go to the computer games store where they work.

Well... me neither (she's coming to visit him in a couple of weeks, and I plan on being sick and hiding at home all weekend), but I'm better than I was (I don't think about it so often), and I'm confident that I will eventually get to that stage. So I guess what I'm saying is that a little faith in the future might take you a long way [Smile]

I don't think I've ever had a crush of that magnitude. I guess I'm just lucky. I've had crushes on people that hooked up with someone else, but I didn't mind too much. I can't think of any situation where it was someone I had a crush on and someone I considered a good friend, though.

If neither of them knew how you felt, I think it's best to just try to be happy for them and remember it's only high school. It's a practice relationship, it's drama-in-a-can, basically. If one of them (or both) knew that you had a crush on this guy, I can see feeling slighted that they didn't talk to you about it or give you some advance notice.

If they did know how you were feeling, I'm sure that it caused them some concern when they got together. I have been in that situation. On both sides. What do you do when you and someone else have mutual feelings of attraction, and a third person has unreturned feelings for one of you? It's never easy, especially if you also care for the person who may feel hurt.

Instead of feeling bad about the situation, try to do something positive, just for yourself. [Smile]

Yeah, been there done that. In the case of one girl, multiple times. Don't know if it's unusual for a guy or not, but yeah, I feel really down when it happens. And blame myself for being too gutless to have made a move first. Damn well sucks, it does...

yup been there too
theres a girl I know (shes awsome)
anyway this girl shes living with her current boyfriend only a few miles away from me
and we talk online sometimes
she tells me about how her and her boyfriend argue all the time and how he winds her up so much
sometimes I find myself almost wishing theyed split up but I know I shouldnt

its hard seeing her like this
I would give up everything to be with her
but shes the kind of girl that wounld NOT expect me too

but if they ever did split Id be in and married to her before her boyfriend know what happened [evil]

Demosthenes's Olde Home-Growne Recipe For Getting Over A Man:

 -

(That's champagne, because it was New Year's and I was single three years ago and commenced to kiss the bottle at midnight instead, but I recommend good whiskey if you'd like a good solid cry, or a Russian vodka if you prefer that bitter-and-stewing drunk.)

Hmm, now if you'd been spinning the bottle rather than kissing it, perhaps you'd have had a better time...

Edit: And ironically, I'm now in regular contact with my ex-crush, online and via text messages. She gave me her number just as I was getting over her...
