I thought that those looking for 'geek love' on this forum might be interested in the Geek Gorgeous 2006 Wall Calendar, which features attractive women who work in computers and engineering.

If by work in computing, you mean 'net pr0n,' then there might be truth to your statement. I tend to think this has very little to do with "All about Love!" and more to do with being a spammer. Good day.

They're on a friend's camera, but somehow I have my friend Jon's camera (from our road trip to Pittsburgh), so maybe I can upload some from it. Hmm, nope. Just checked. It needs a cable other than USB. I don't have a video cable. [Frown]

A camera that doesn't have one of those mini USB connectors? That's weird...

It's an Olympus Digital Camera, model no. D-360L, made in Indonesia. I don't know how old it is, but it's heavy! And looks like your standard automatic, non-digital camera.

Card readers are the way to go - the heck with weird cables, and draining battery life...

Yeah, according to google it's either a serial cable (ugh, painfully slow), or a USB card reader. Option B is pretty good, and not hellishly expensive (around $25-$30 AU or so). Make sure you get one that can read all the card formats for maximum versatility, and that it supports high speed USB.

Are you guys now talking about my future camera purchase? 'Cause it kinda sounds like you're talking about Jon's Olympus, too. [Confused]

Both, actually. If you get what I described, you can read from his card from his camera, and whatever sort of card from whatever camera you end up getting. Or I guess you could get a Firewire card reader if your Mac has Firewire, slightly quicker again, but also a bit more expensive. Just make sure your card reader reads all the memory card formats and you're fine (although these days most compact cameras seem to take SD from what I've seen).
