J.J. Abrams sells sci-fi apocalypse pilot to NBC

J.J. Abrams new show about a post-apocalyptic world in which all forms of modern technology have ceased to work.

“A high octane action drama from J. J. Abrams following a group of characters struggling to survive and reunite with loved ones in a world where all forms of energy have mysteriously ceased to exist.”

Wait wait wait... if -all- forms of energy have mysteriously ceased to exist, wouldn't that leave us with a cold (no heat), completely black (no light), completely dead (no metabolism) planet?

Pedantry aside...
“In this epic adventure thriller, a family struggles to reunite in a post-apocalyptic American landscape: a world of empty cities, local militias and heroic freedom fighters, where every single piece of technology — computers, planes, cars, phones, even lights — has mysteriously blacked out … forever.”

Considering the director, I'm going to predict that this turns out to be "Mad Max" with horses instead of cars. I'd much rather see Snaggy's script. It might at least include LaCutest of Go-Go.

Snaggy: Your story was fun, though! [Smile]

JJ Abrams' work is /epic/, and often enthralling, but sometimes that wears you down, you know? (That thing you saw 20 episodes ago...whoa, it was really important...but we're not going to tell you what it actually means for another 20.)

AY2K was a grand story to follow, and was in no way a key source of procrastination in college for me. [Wink]

In other words, we still love you guys, and even if JJ tries to upstage you, he won't succeed. [Big Grin]

If at all.
Sometimes I suspect he just puts "something weird" in every few episodes for the helluvit, with no intention of ever explaining what it was about.

If you watch 'The History Of NASA' backwards, it's about a space agency that has no manned spaceflight capability, then does low-orbit flights, then lands on the Moon.
