Right well.. About me.. I'm Laska. I'm a 21 year old chick from South Australia. I'm a full time student at Flinders University, fire-fighter for the South Australia Country Fire Service and a geek.

My favourite OS would be FreeBSD and Debian Linux. I enjoy coding and my favourite languages are c and asm. I dislike object-orientated programming, but I cope.

Not I, I've got a tripod and a self-timer.

Welcome, though, Laska (though I seem to remember seeing these photos in another thread somewhere [Wink] )

This just mean you haven't found the one for you yet... [Roll Eyes] [Big Grin]

BTW, Objective-C is the one that did it for me! Not C++ (yeach! a strutured language parading as OO), not Java (a bit obfuscating, if you ask me), and although SmallTalk is nice, it didn't struck me.

Anyway, welcome, have fun, and if you don't mind the occasional insanity, you should do great.

Howdy, Laska. Welcome to GC Forums for the gathering of eclectic minds. Whatever your language, OS or platform, post away! (And have some fun doing it. We need more fun here, just now.) [Wink]

PS - Nice T-shirt. Well, I think it was the shirt. [Big Grin]

I don't know what I was thinking... it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Yeah, Obj-C is the shiznit.

All you need to do is remember to [obj retain] and [obj release], and memory is pretty much managed for you.

Anyways, welcome to the GC forums, hope you have fun [Smile]

Hello! Welcome to this forum thingy. It's a good forum thingy that you'll most likely like. At least more than most 1960s 12-tone scale compositions.

Though I'm not a big fan of Microsoft, I do find myself coding in the latest hyped thing called C#. I think OO has it's uses, but it's not for everyone or for every project. But hey, if chicks dig UNIX then I'd better go out and get me a Sun Station NOW!!!!

Welcome! Stay! Post! Spread the bits around!!
