Um, hi and stuff.

I guess I am the newest n00b on the block, so I figured I would say hello.

I'm in college doing the computer science thing and losing my mind over Java programming. I am SO lost. Blah.

I'm not very good at these kinds of things.

NOTICE! I removed the link to my OkCupid account. Tattoo gallery is still open. And just for the record, tech geeks are hot! [Wink]

Feel free to message me if you desire to. Oh crap, I'm late for class! *runs out door screaming*

I have nine tattoos total. And yes, I have one on each of my breasts. Just in case someone asks me, NO IT DIDN'T HURT! I get that a lot.

Anyhoo, I'm doing work in the lab, but when I get home, I will post another clearer shot of my the tats....but I won't flash my nipples lol

FYI-the one in the pic is a yin/yang symbol floating in water with a dolphin jumping over it.

I got to thinking that some females may be offended by the fact that I have no shame in posting partial nudity. If it does, I'm sorry, but it's who I am. If you don't like it, don't look.
It is true that I have been perceived as a slut. That's fine with me, too. However, I am an ethical slut. Hah.

Back to programming.... [cry baby]

Cool. Nine? Just got 3 myself. Party dots(of course) on my hand. A picture of Jack Luminous from Voivod Outer Limits and now I am getting ready for my third sitting on a cover up. A nice Ganesh. I have 9 hrs. in it so far. The next piece is to cover up the Jack Luminous, my new artist and I were talking about a Buddah over that. And we have begun to talk about adding a back piece. Kinda like candy, one is never enough.

When I finish the last sitting for the Ganesh I will post it up for everyone.

Yeppers. Nine of 'em. I even had a musician autograph my back. Even though his band is hella gay now, I don't regret it at all.

I'll post a pic of my newest one in a few. IF I brought it with me on my USB drive.

How much cash are we talking about? I'm asking seriously. I've been wanting a dragon on my right shoulder blade for, oh shit, like 8 years now. No...I'm 24 and I wanted it when I was 15 so that's nine years. I want it small and simple - I saw a Chinese dragon design somewhere that I liked. It was all one color. I do not fear the pain. I do fear the price. :/

It will depend on the artist and the area. Size and colors are also factors.

Best I can say is shop. My Ganesh covering a 6x4 area with lots of good colors and will probably come out to about 15hrs of work. I paid $300.00 which is dirt cheap. But I am also getting a family discount. My little sis is her billboard, full back art and she is willing to be her model at the shows.

Any shop will tell you the same. It can be as cheap as 40 for a piece of flash and into the 1000's for large custom work.

Damn, my thread has been hijacked!

Since we're on the tattoo thing, I have over 650 dollars inked on my body.

The more detailed they are, and the bigger the size, the more expensive the tat is.

I suggest doing some research and finding a tattoo parlor that is reasonably priced, and the tattoo artist is skilled and clean.

Anyways, here's my My Tattoo Gallery

We are famous for hijacks and punfests. We are like Middle Eastern Piers Anthony's here. [Razz]

OMGS has a great point. Make sure that you speak with others in your area that have had work done and get a very good look at what they did to them.

There are plenty of people that call themselves artists. But most of them are meat grinders. And an artist is only as good as their custom work. Most anyone can do flash work, a true tatoo artists skill shines in what they pull out of their.....hat.

X, if you have a copy of the piece that you want done already on paper, take it to a few places nearby and get it priced out. This also gives you an opportunity to check out there shop and watch the people in action.

Personally I like the female artists a bit more than males. They are more attentitive to detail and color. But female tatooists are pretty rare still.

I don't mind it being hijacked--it was my fault anyways, posting a pic of my boobies and all. [Big Grin]

There is one thing I want to make people aware of, especially ones who are not as pain-tolerant as I am.

Most respectable tattoo artists will NOT ink you if you are under the influence of alcohol, illicit or legal drugs. Your blood may become too thin when you bleed, making the tattoo harder to do because the tattooist will have to keep constantly wiping the blood off.

Secondly, make sure they use needles that are in STERILE PACKAGING!!! I can't stress that enough. Conclaves are NOT safe. I don't believe in re-using needles.

Oh, and if you think you're going to embarrass yourself by puking (pain-intolerant people, this means you!), don't worry about it. They've seen it done before.

If you're not sure of your limit for pain is, I would suggest not getting one at all.

Just some food for thought.

I forgot to add that there is a tattoo artist directory on the Web somewhere.

One last thought--if you're not sure what you want but feel the need to get inked, look at tattoo magazines, ask your friends, draw a design out (I'm not that talented ;/), and lots of places have several books, posters, and general looking tattoos called 'flash'.

Most tattooists want to make sure they have a happy customer, and they will assist you in whatever design you REALLY, REALLY want.

Make sure it is something you want and can live with because tattoo removal by laser is 3000 bucks a session, and most take 3 to 4 visits to get rid of a tattoo. You do the math.

Lastly, as like many people I know, once you have had a taste of the sting, you can't get enough ink.

Tattoos are like potato chips; you can't have just one [Wink]
