Nah Jace,

A T1 would be too slow. He might have a OC12 connection or a FTL*.

FTL would be my choice if I were the Almighty. After all I could see what is on the Internet before it gets on it.

Strongly resisting temptation to use a string of profane abuse....

Steven, you should know that it is exceptionally inconsiderate, not to mention bad netiquette, to register at a forum simply and for the sole purpose of advertising your little Christian ghetto. We are also quite capable of holding discussions around themes of religion and belief here, thank you very much, except that we are not so insecure as to need to exclude those with perspectives that differ from our own.

So please either contribute something to this community or get out.

I apologize if I had offended anyone. I was not thinking that it would be wrong to post the link.

I plan on making the most of my membership here, and I will share my geek-wisdom whenever I can.

Steven,

I did go to your site to browse. Looks like you get decent traffic and from what I saw it isn't a fanatical site. [thumbsup] I am not a Christian so I couldn't tell you if it has any panache.

I do hope though you came to this site to hang around and not shamelessly advertise.

Ok people, If you're going to flame the new guy, I guess you should flame me too. I followed a link and ended up at his forum. I liked it, so I joined. I noticed that Steven is a fellow geek, so I mentioned geekculture in my opening post. I also mentioned that from time to time we do have religious discussions on this board. I did not think that Steven's first post would be to advertise his forum on this one. However, I do believe his sincerity in wanting to be a contributing member of this board. I hope you all give him a second chance and overlook his faux pas.

In a way, I think it is a good thing that he did advertise his forum, I believe he does want intelligent discussion on his forum whether you are Christian or not. I am sure, as long as you follow the rules of his forum, anyone can join his forum. He has a place for asking theological questions that spark debates.

If you will notice, I try never to start a theological discussion on these forums. I feel it would be pushy here, but over there I am free to do so. Some other Christians on this forum may feel as I do, some may not.

If you don't like what he did, I apologize for him and myself. Put it on my account, give him another chance, and let's move on.

God Bless,

first of all, your god is omnipotent, so he wouldn't HAVE to check your forum out, he already knows whats there. second of all, why does jesus need anyone else to spread his word? its been estimated that at least 75% of the world has been exposed to christianity. the figure is probably much higher. THIRD (and think long and hard about this one before replying), how can you possibly know that you're spreading jesus' word? the new testament of the bible was written over 2,000 years ago, in that time its been translated COUNTLESS times. and i don't care what anyone says, translating books butcher them. so basically, when you're reading your new american standard, you're reading something that went from aramaic to greek, to latin, so on and so forth to english. don't you think that people would add or subtract things in that time, and throughout those translations?

now, before anyone gets on my ass for presenting these three points. i was raised devout christian and i, myself came to the realization that christianity is nothing more than a tool of world domination. not to tell you that you're wrong for believing that, believe whatever helps you sleep at night. but its not what you believe in, its that you believe.

anyone who wants to talk trash to me for this post can redirect themselves to www.13swords.net, instead of wasting space on these fine forums.

PS i love you nitro

It takes much more courage to stand up for your beliefs than to put down someone else's.

Yeah, what goo said. What I'm finding ironic lately is the anti-Christian backlash are sounding more and more like fundamentalist religious people in the tone of their interactions with Christians. When this is pointed out to them, they get all "Well, they did it to us first, so why can't we do it back?"

exactly. haha i knew that would cause a discussion. and on the subject of courage.. you're only saying that to make him feel better. its like a parent saying "its ok honey, don't listen to the mean boys!".

anyways, who cares? the romans fed christians to lions. i bring up some points, and i'm an asshole. i see how it is...

You just don't want to let it go do you bull3t. So he made an error in judgement with one of his first posts on this forum, so what? I have seen quite a few first posts that were not so stellar. I know I have made some posts that I wish I would have thought over more, and I am sure you have too. If you are so enlightened because you are no longer a Christian, then why don't you show your enlightened ability to forgive and forget. I know some who claim to be Christians that have a hard time doing that, but it should be a piece of cake for the oh so enlightened bull3t. Oh and I am not going to take this up with you on the other website because this is where the thread is located. I don't go talking trash about what people post on this forum on other forums, I believe it is bad netiquette.
