A: There will be a conjuntion of Venus and Jupitor, in the next few days.

B: There is a solar flare headed our way, not as big as Carrinton but it should produce some very good auras.

Both of these event should happen this weekend.

Finally our first clear evening in weeks. The conjunction was the first and brightest star to appear the evening of July 3 GMT Wee hours. At first I was concerned that what I was seeing was a relfection off of a man made object. Twenty minutes later I was assured, in that it only moved towards the Western Horizon. I hope that others have had a chance to view this natural event.

The moon last evening was too bright, to allow viewing the Aura!

I gave it a half-hearted effort, but the angle wasn't right to see the conjunction from my seat by the backyard fire pit, so I gave up. And yeah, the mood was very bright.

Mother Nature was uncooperative, but this seems like a good excuse to share a picture I took a few months ago...

If you watch 'The History Of NASA' backwards, it's about a space agency that has no manned spaceflight capability, then does low-orbit flights, then lands on the Moon.
