Erm, my use of the winking graemlin might have been miscontrued, as well as my facetious remark. UBB search is a bloody pain in the arse, and I had to know exactly what to look for (which I did, since I know the poster), and it took me a good 2-3 minutes for UBB to plod through it self, and grace me with the results.

So, while writing this, I thought about just giving Google a quick try to see if it could find the thread in question easily, and it did not, but it* surprised the hell out of me, by showing me a thread title that I instantly recognized - "To date or not to date - a friend." I mean, who else besides me would write such a quirky thread topic? [Wink] Leave it to Google to find a thread I started 2.5 years ago, and give me a walk down memory lane (quite different from Penny Lane, I might add). Man, that takes me back - I missed those days around here :-/. I just finished re-reading it, and was a little surprised to find that it really was my first thread - wow. And upon careful reading, I realized it made mention to someone else completely...I don't think I've seen that girl ever since...but the other one... ... ... (I'll let the ellipses do the talking [Razz] ). Also of note is that Red was still a jerk to me, and there is again proof that uilleann is not the bane of humanity, and can actually be a decent bloke [Smile] . It even calls to mind a little dancing around that happened, went on for a bit, and then disappeared into the ether.

Yet /another/ thing that post showed, as evidenced above, is that my writing can be quite verbose and convoluted at times [Wink] . Be thankful that I have RSI lingering over me these days, as I didn't really back then, so I was free to write pages without much effort [Big Grin] . Of course, other factors curb my writing around these parts, but such a diatribe is not of merit to this thread.

*The query: "do not ++how ask ++i found ++this xanthine site:geekculture.com" (the result of tweaking to beat Google's "common words" filter and get a little closer to the post.).

P.S. I probably should link to the thread in question, shouldn't I?

What's Penny Lane? Is it mostly fictitious like Drury Lane?

Penny Lane (of Beatles fame) is in Liverpool

Drury Lane is far from fictional

If you watch 'The History Of NASA' backwards, it's about a space agency that has no manned spaceflight capability, then does low-orbit flights, then lands on the Moon.

Wow, that just brightened my day :-D

On my precalculus final exam last year, one of our essay questions asked us to write an induction proof of a given series. I knew I had completely bombed the proof, so I wrote "by the principle of mathematical induction, this is a lousy proof" on the end. Otherwise, I wouldn't have the courage/stupidity to BS an entire exam like that...

My chem final exam was a state exam, you can see a previous year's exam [url= http://"http://www.ncpublicschools.org/accountability/testing/eoc/Chemistry/released/items.pdf"]here[/url] (not that anyone wants to read a chemistry exam for fun).

Our chem exam was a "modified" ACS exam (50 of the 200 questions [Razz] ), with a bit of write ins.

That was absolutely hilarious. I've done stuff like that on exams before, but never that funny. I'm just not that creative. [Wink]
