2/5 - if you're female (or otherwise unable to appreciate Angelina Jolie's more subtle talents) then go with 1/5 on this creation. See it if it's on TV sometime and you are paralyzed from the neck down and unable to use the remote.

Hrmmm I will see it because I am a Jolee freak. But that is about the only reason I will go see it. I have heard it is slightly better than the first but I can hardly see how it could be worse.

Interesting related bit of trivia.

Apparently Jolie complained that they airbrushed her nipples out on some of the promotional posters .

I could be mistaken, but most females would be happy if they did this, right? [Confused]

Not that I'm complaining [evil]

I dont know when I will see it but someday it will be on TV and I will watch it then if Junkyard wars isn't on at the same time. Or maybe if it is winter and the grass is not growing anymore. Wait what am I talking about in the winter I will be snowboarding so I guess I will probably never see it.

I saw the movie several weeks back and have a few comments... first was the audience... annoying as hell, nothing worse than kids kicking at the back of your seat as you turn and ask them not to and the parents glare back at you like I did something wrong?!?!?

Anyhow this movie was better... but not one of the best movies I've seen. The first movie was so much like playing the video games and the story so weak that it was terrible in that way. This time around they concentrated on story. But when they did that they were disjointed with the action and special effects. Sometimes it was fantastic stunts that were so fantastic but you had to suspend your disbelief. Other times the stunts were too realistic that because your disbelief was suspended that it seemed slow and fake.

The biggest critique I can give this movie is that it had lousy timing, which I can only attribute to bad editing and bad screenplay writing. Which is surprising since Michael Kahn, editor (Catch me if you Can, Saving Private Ryan, Schindler's List) has successfully worked with Jan de Bont (Twister) but Dean Georgaris is really an unproven screenplay writer which shows in the interaction of dialog and action. However the photography was fantastic with David Tattersall whose film credits range from Star Wars and Die Another Day, you can appreciate the fine camera work throughout the film.

Overall, if you're both a Tomb Raider fan and a Jolie fan, you'll walk out feeling disappointed and not sure why. I believe this to be the fault of a movie based on a game that hasn't really seen much success recently and that they have deviated from the formula of the game. The game should never have been made into a movie with live actors. I could see animation as a more successful franchise, but inevitably the game was never well written and it was just a boob fest attraction which most boys and men outgrew when other more interesting games came out.

Anyhow just my thoughts on it.... rent it or watch it when it comes out on TV is my thoughts.

I was turned off from seeing it as soon as they mentioned looking for Pandora's box in Africa. Excuse me, does anyone know why something from Greek mythology would be in the heart of Africa?! [Roll Eyes]
