I was looking through the user list, and it seems as though everyone in my area on GC has faded into oblivion. Anyone with a pulse in Central FL care to speak up?

Just curious, who's from NYC or LI (Long Island)? Pulse is optional, I can just get a defibrillator from the local hospital and that person is bound to just bounce around and have a grand 'ol time.....

But yea, a pulse would be preferred.... that other thing is too much work.

I'm in NY, and so is Jessycat - she's in the city, I'm in Westchester. Oh yeah, Grey_girl is also in NYC, as well as Jessycat's friend 'klemputer' (such a frequent poster around here [Wink] ). I know there are a few other NY geeks, but there's one or two whose nicks I get mixed up. IIRC, 'Alien Investor' is here. Now if only my geek were here, that would be even better [Smile] .

I live about ~100 miles to the north of there and pass by it when visiting the ancestral home. You'd have to be very persuasive to get me to actually enter the place, though. Orlando frightens me for some reason. It tries to grab onto you and prevent you from leaving, one way or another. Confusing street layout. Construction. Wide, busy highways with exits on both sides. Etc.

Your conviction that there is a monster under the bed would be a mere eccentricity if you weren't so heavily armed and it was your own bed.

But hey, justelise is there – why would you ever want to leave? :)

I can't believe Orlando is such an unloved city. Aren't we called the "city beautiful" or some nonsense like that? Just because it's hot, and it rains, leaving the humidity at 100%, and there are mosquitos, and there are few tech jobs, and...

Oh, never mind.

*Replying to what Lex said* Good lord, I know it! It took my mom and I around 1 1/2 hours to get out. But there's a fantastic sushi place in Orlando... I don't think I'd try looking for it again though. 8^/
