I'm known here as CyberGoddess, but known elsewhere throughout the net as KageNeko. I'm 25, live in Marin County, California with my boyfriend Jason. I work as a compatibility technician for a very well-known video game company and spend most of my spare time playing both PC and console games even though you'd think when I leave work I wouldn't want to look at a game.

I also am an amateur photographer, using both digital and conventional media, as well as a dabbler in sketching and painting. More than anything, however, I'm a musician. I love to sing and I'm a classically trained dramatic soprano, though I'll sing anything from opera to rock.

Anything else you want to know about me can be found on my personal site at http://www.kageneko.net.

My photos can be found at http://gallery.kageneko.net.

Aha! I knew it! Lucas Arts!

When is the next version coming out? I want to get it...

Also, is that Starfighter game any good? *holds mouse over KaZaA* [Wink]

AND, what does it mean when my Multiplayer Game says "Invalid Game Folder" when I try and join an internet game?

[Big Grin]

To answer Question #1: I don't know. I'm a compatibility technician, not a producer.

Question #2: Starfighter is actually fun if you're into flying games. I never want to hear of you pirating my company's software again. You preventing them from getting money means more chances of people losing their jobs. Don't make me kick your ass.

Question #3: Call product support or use the support form at http://support.lucasarts.com. I get very few hours off and I'm not working during them [Smile]

CG, I'll take a brunette... about 5'7", athletic build. It'd be nice if she could sing, though classical training isn't required.

A compatibility technician tests games with computer hardware to ensure that they work well together. I test video cards, sound cards, mice, CD-ROMs, keyboards... any piece of hardware that could possibly not work with the game. Typically, we each have an AMD and an Intel test box so we can also check to see how particular processors work with the game as well.

Basically, I get to play with computer hardware and video games all day. It's my dream job. [Smile]

Which is the best video card for Jedi Knight? I have a 32MB TNT2 M64 chipset card, and it works great on 800x600, but slower any larger...

Best video card? Probably a GeForce4 Ti4600 would be best, though any GeForce4 (NOT MX) would work well [Smile] Actually, GeForce4 Ti4600 is just a great, stable, well-supported card so I'd recommend it for anyone.

TNT2 cards are kinda bottom of the list on most any modern game. If you're going to be playing anything new, you really need to upgrade that thing and soon. TNT2 cards don't support T&L (Transform and Lighting) nor do they support vertex and pixel shaders. Many new games require T&L. Whatever you do, though, do not buy a GeForce4 MX. Without getting into the really technical explanations, they really are little more than a GeForce2 core.

Keep in mind this is all my personal opinions and not in any way the opinion of my company or my department.

I refuse to buy an ATI card until they have at least 3 solid product lines with good driver support. Historically, they are known for having craptacular drivers.

I'm waiting for the GeForce FX which should be comparable in price.

If it's out by February, and it's lower in price, then I'll buy it...

The ATI card is $275 [Big Grin]

What is this? The Cybergoddess and Karaman A show (it could work, mabey it could be a tech support show)

I sometimes get the feeling that this thread is getting a bit off topic.

Anyone with me?

quoting GeekAvenger:

You'll find that most threads at GC end up wandering some way off topic... but that's what makes it great [Big Grin] You don't feel like you have to stick to a particular theme (though, obviously, some threads are less appropriate to 'hijack' than others)... and the more randomness introduced, the more people feel like they have something to contribute, and the more interesting it gets...
