Yay! I just found out a little while ago that I've been hired for a position teaching sailing over the summer [Smile]
Yipee!
I get to get paid for teaching sailing 15 hours a week on beautifull Martha's Vineyard Island [Smile]
I'll be teaching kids age 7-13, in Optimus'es, Sunfish, Lasers, Daysailors, and if we get the Javelin cleaned up, then a Javelin too [Smile]
Here's some picts from previous years:
http://stonewallcs.com/users/jon/summer2k3/
Later today or tommorow I'm going to be taking photos of the sailboats to see how they held up from the summer.
I can't wait, I'm so excited, it's the first time I have been employed [Smile]

Congrats dualg! The closest I've been to Martha's Vineyard was studying it in English class last year, so I envy you [Wink] ... but have a great summer there nonetheless [Beard of Peter Gabriel!]

Nice! That looks like it will be great - nice scenery. I hope the kids don't drive you crazy...

This summer, it looks like I will be managing the student workers, rather than just being one of them [evil] . I do have seniority after all, and a nice desk with a powerful computer (& a less powerful, but highly capabale Linux server [Big Grin] ).

Ha! I'm NOT working this summer! Yep, that's right. Xanthine gets a break before Xanthine goes to grad school. And yes, Xanthine is VERY aware she'll never get to do this again, which is why she'll be enjoying it all the more!

In all fairness, I've been working fscking hard in labs every summer since I got out of HS.
