Ha ha ha
that is so cool - I think the gag would wear pretty thin pretty quick but I do have a strange attraction for that old bzzz wah boink boink glah glah wheee kinda thing - maybe if I could set it to only do it when a new user connected or something I would go for it...
Total aside... anyone else here remember the "real" modems where you actually had to put the old phone handset into a foam filled "coupler"? C'mon surely I am not the only one?

Serenak & Snaggy______________Those sounds would be funny if I wasn't still dialing out Via V90 Modem. Ah yes the acustic coupled modem and the old audio tape that stored programs in Basic. Takes me back to 1981 all over again. Hey I still smoked and drank back then, my how things have changed and yet here I am still connected with a analog modem to a dialup ISP.

I don't miss it, dial up was as costy as slow it was. I'd prefer the Artie Ziff modem add-on which plays Disco music ![[Razz]](tongue.gif)

I remember acoustic couplers perfectly well - but I'm not nostalgic for it
As it is we're still only in the bronze age of technology using practically paleolithic tools and programs. I certainly have no desire to relive one of the low points... especially when I sit near a fax machine and have to listen to the damn thing all day.

That's a great idea.
I'll be writing some software for a modem chip in a couple of weeks, so I'll have to remember to make a recording.
