While the gentleman was humble about his feat, the comments section posters were stupid I doubt any of those people has ever stood at deaths door and pulled someone back. There is a point in time that all other threats fade and getting that person out alive is topmost. Think military field medic.

I'm going to avoid the Internet comments. It took me a moment to realize 'WP' was WashPo, and not WordPress. [Razz]

I skimmed this - at the end of the day it sounds like good was done. However, I find the bragging quite distasteful. A post that starts with "Today I saved someone's life" is one I'm not going to read. You can call me the crankiest something-or-other and maybe I am, but I don't admire boasting like that. Actions, not words, impress me. A hero is called that by other people, not yourself. Regardless, good on him for helping the guy out.

Dman I agree on some peoples self aggrandizement, not needed if you do the deed. Climbing the tower doing the slack line and then dropping into the chairlift, and cutting the strap. Is no mean feat this takes him out of the bystanders group and into the doers group.

I from being a doer you don't count the good outcomes you remember the failures, those are the ones that weigh on your psyche daily why, why dammit I did every thing right.
