Wow. I didn't watch the whole thing, which I'm pretty sure I've seen linked all across the web today...but it was definitely interesting to watch parts of it. Maybe I'm lame, but I've never quite gotten the draw of the 1984 commercial. I think it's the perfect climax to the introduction by Steve, though.
Also, he made a comment about how a Macintosh would be the second thing on people's desktops, in addition to a phone. That is definitely true today, though the exact definition might be fuzzy. On my office desk, I have a dual monitor Dell setup, with my MBP sitting off to the right, and my phone to the left. From time to time, my desk is also graced/burdened by what Steve would love...my Android work phone, and sometimes my personal non-smartphone. That said, my favorite tool for work in that whole mix is the laptop, even if at times, I'm using it in the field to remote into the PC.
This post happily written on my personal Mac laptop.
(A ringing endorsement these days - most sysadmins I know run Mac laptops...we just CBA to have problematic computers in our spare time. )
There are three things you can be sure of in life: Death, taxes, and reading about fake illnesses online...
