We live on the east side of Vancouver Island, which has a low risk for tsunami. But we do get quakes here, in fact the largest one in Canada, until last night, occurred nearby in 1946. It was a 7.3. Ironically a person died from the results of a landslide-generated tsunami in that one... his boat was overturned by the wave and he drowned.

epicenter was about 1000 KM away, so little if anything was felt around us.
