An earthquake struck our fair island this afternoon!

Magnitude 6.4 - VANCOUVER ISLAND, CANADA REGION

We were on our deck, Nitrozac felt it while sitting, I didn't while standing, but we both heard the mighty crash as this piece of lumber toppled to the floor in our garage! I shudder to think what would have happened it I had been sleeping under it. [Razz]

God is angry at Canukistan for electing a Conservative government!

Sorry, must have been chanelling Michelle Bachman's Liberal twin for a second there.

Glad to hear you survived the catastrophe, that falling lumber could have been nasty.

Eek!

I'm glad you're OK!

As it is, it's unfortunate that the quake caused your lumber to lumber. :/
It would have been worse if your lumber lumbered into you.

Just imagine if the lumber hit his lumbar!

We've moved on from earthquakes to flooding on this coast. We had some relatively minor flooding here yesterday, but towns as close as 30 minutes away got hammered. And this on top of all the flooding from Irene.

Obviously His Noodliness is not pleased with any of us.

Snaggy, that reminds me of tales my family tells of the 6.something that hit Seattle a few years back. I was in upsate NY at the time and the news shook me up more than the event did them! The faults in the NW are, thankfully, deep.

Is it just me or there wasn't that much hub bub about the one that hit Virginia? I think the one in the Vancouver Island area was pretty deep compared to the VA one.

DMAN: Maybe you ought to get hit with some lumber! [Wink]
