A few months ago I bought a 16GB Freecom Databar, which I have found very useful.

Today it got left in the pocket of my jeans, and spent 40 minutes in the washing machine @ 40 degrees C. It must have fallen out of the jeans during the wash, as it then spent 45 minutes being tumble- dried on the 'High Heat' setting.

Immediately after being rescued from the machine it mounted as a drive in both Linux and Mac OS X and all the data seems uncorrupted.

I don't know what being washed and tumble- dried will do to the lifespan of the Databar, but for now it works, so I'm impressed. [Applause] [Applause]
